1. Operation Procedures/Settings

Style-JP is an English/Japanese bilingual social networking service. If you live in North America, or are interested in speaking English and Japanese, we hope this site helps you communicate, exchange information and make personal connections.

-Language Exchange-
For Japanese/English language exchange, please click the button on the upper-right side of the menu and login in with the same email address and password.

-Mail Receipt/Options-
Once a member has sent a message to your account, we will send an email notification to your address. These gReceivedh updates will be sent instantly to your account to notify you when you have an important message from friends. To give you more freedom, you can control this setting by selecting gSettingsh at the top of the menu. If you registered in Japanese you will receive Japanese email notifications. If you registered in English you will receive English email notifications.
You can change your language preference for email by selecting the gEdit Settingsh button. When you are unable to fully understand messages from friends written in Japanese, you may send English notices or exchange English comments through the Japanese site.

-Footprint Function/Settings-
Through this function you can monitor member access to your page. In order to facilitate communication, you can enable this function by selecting gSHINOBI modeh from the top menu. This mode will conceal your visits from the other party.

2. Inviting Friends

Expand your circle by inviting friends to join Style-Jp. We invite you to use this site to form and/or participate in communities with friends that share your same interests, set-up private communities with old friends and colleagues, or just to keep in contact by exchanging messages and photos.

Whenever you want to invite someone new, just click on the green "Invite Friends" button on the menu at the top of the page. From this same menu you can choose your language preference for the email invite (Japanese or English) and even invite people who don't understand Japanese to engage in true international exchange.

3. Operation Management/Practical Application

The following categories will touch on the basic operation management policies for Style-JP.

-TOP MENU-
The 2nd menu at the top of the page is divided into 3 parts:

  1. Member Bars underlined in dark-green mark the menu pages for your exclusive use. You can post your own blogs and check all messages from here.
  2. Member Bars underlined in brown mark the menu topics for other member pages. You can read other member blogs and send messages from here.
  3. Community Bars underlined in green mark the Community menu topics. You can join communities from here.

Whenever you what to go back to your own home page, just click the "My Style" button at the top of any page.

-POSTING BLOGS-
If you want to create a Blog, or write comments about an existing Blog, click the "Blog" button and then select "Post New Blog." If you want to restrict access click "My Friends Only" or "Private." It is possible for you to create blogs strictly for private use.

-SENDING MESSAGES-
When you want to send a message to other members, go to your My Friends List and select "Send Message" from the above-mentioned menu topics. You can send up to 3 photos with each message.

-ADDING MEMBERS TO MY FRIENDS-
You will need the consent of each member before you will be able to add them to your My Friends List. Access their page and click on "Add to Favorites" to send a message request. They will be automatically be added to the list the instant your request is accepted. Please be assured that Style-JP will not send "request denied" notices when you refuse to accept unsolicited requests from third parties.

-ADDING MEMBERS TO FAVORITES-
If you would often access specific Blogs, but don't wish to register on that member's My Friends List, you will need to be added to their My Favorites List. In this instance, you do not need permission from the author and can register by clicking on the "Add to Favorites" button.
Other members will not be able to view your Favorites List.

4. YouTube (Video) Links

It's easy to link the contents of your own YouTube videos to blogs and communities.

-Linking Videos-
First open the YouTube clip that you want to link to and then copy the URL from the browser address and paste the entire link into the body of your blog.
